06/2009: Abstract of studies with the NORAS 8 Ch CPC about rat brains

With the help of the NORAS 3-tesla 8 channel CPC Multifunction Coil, Mr. Herrmann and his team at the University of Jena in Germany, received outstanding high-resolution MR images in their studies’ of the brains of living rats.

The abstract was accepted by the Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering World Congress in June of 2009. Among other notable statements in the abstract recognizing NORAS MRI products, it states: “To optimize SNR and to achieve a homogeneous signal over the whole rat brain a two-module multi function 8-channel coil [11, 12] (CPC coil, Noras MRI products GmbH, Höchberg, Germany) was used as shown in Fig. 2 (note: shown on the left side). Each module contains four 5 cm loop coils in a shamrock configuration with partial overlap. The CPC coil allows to place the coil elements close to the rat head due to a very flexible mounting system, allowing for rotation and tilt of the modules as well as rotation and translation of the mounting arms."

The Princess Royal discovers the NORAS 8 Ch Head Coil

Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, attended the opening ceremony of a new Clinical Neuroscience Center in London.

During her visit, she was given a demonstration of the MRI scanners and other new equipment. Attendees, as well as the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II, were visibly impressed by the presentation of the new NORAS 8 Channel Head Coil. We are extremely pleased with the outcome of this event, and would like to thank all who supported this project.
